We know that people still love to use disposable baby wipes and wouldn’t be without them, but due to the huge amount of wipes causing issues in the world’s sewer systems, we’ve amended this post to just recommend using plant based and bamboo biodegradable baby wipes. For me, realising how good they were at cleaning started when my son was a baby and I spotted some dried yoghurt on the couch and grabbed a baby wipe to clean it off as it was the nearest thing. Oh, I was amazed at the clean and shine it put on my leather couch!
Baby wipes are one of those simple essentials that make a huge difference when you’re living or travelling in a van or camping without easy access to showers. They’re a quick, convenient way to freshen up after long hikes, beach days, or dusty travel days, helping you feel clean when running water isn’t available. While they’re not a replacement for proper washing, they’re incredibly useful for staying on top of basic hygiene on the go, whether that’s wiping down hands, face, or body after a long day outside. Lightweight, cheap, and easy to store, baby wipes have become a staple in vanlife and camping setups for good reason: they help you stay comfortable and feeling human, even in the middle of nowhere.
